To incorporate this information on a digital landscape allows for the integration of moving images. The use of html and css as a means of presenting a dialogue of word and photography with the inclusion of the sonic allow for a means of animating the image. Being able to illustrate these various mediums and forms of meaning onto this digital platform ties together the still image, gifs, text based contextualization and the use of various other sources.
The gifs are self portraits that evoke some sense of movement. This use of portraiture as living and breathing allows for the animation and caricature of self. Thinking through my positioning within the work of Satoh is something that I hope to illustrate in the self portraits. Tying into visual signifiers of meaning that relate back to the aesthetics of noise or hardcore music are lines of inquiry that I followed when stlying the gifs.
Thinking through the integration of image and word in a memetic sense is a component of play that I enjoy working with within the context of the site. Moving image and the implementation of gifs ties back into early internet usage and the culture surrounding early html sites and blog type culture.
The web of meaning and links on the site offer the building blocks to navigate one's own experience of the work. Extending from various resources, worlds and sonic landscapes- text not only exists as something to be read but also something to be engaged with, seen and heard.
